Brooke Gibbons

Brooke Gibbons (Chamoru name Saddok of the Adiluk clan of Talofofo, Guåhan/Guam) is an indigenous Chamoru artist and curator whose work is based on cultural preservation and heritage, museology and archiving, childhood nostalgia, and occasionally being goofy and unserious.

Her recent solo exhibits "Diary (2019)," "Good for the Environment/Bad for the Environment (2023)," and "IF SMOKING (2024)" all incorporated personal archival methods, mixed-media collage, and vintage pop culture throwbacks.

Brooke was born in Guam, raised on the US/Mexico borderland, and now lives in Southwest Charlotte. She has worked with the Guam Museum, Wells Fargo Museum, Thankful Heritage Black History Museum, and has consulted on projects with NBA and NASCAR affiliates. Brooke has received numerous awards for her work as a curator of community-centered spaces and galleries. She currently works as Director of Impact and Sustainability for the arts nonprofit ArtPop Street Gallery and leads a monthly Sacred Art Appreciation class at St Philip Neri Catholic Church in Fort Mill, SC.
